Synopsis: Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You

Sasaki, a middle-aged man trapped in a soul-crushing job, seeks refuge in the cheerful grin of Yamada, a young cashier at a nearby 24-hour grocery store. Enduring constant berating from his boss, Sasaki finds solace in knowing he can escape his daily grind by visiting his favorite cashier. One difficult evening, Sasaki arrives at the store to find Yamada has already left for the day. Feeling dejected, he retreats to the back of the store to light a cigarette when Tayama, a bold and spunky woman, invites him over. Tayama teases Sasaki about his frequent visits and infatuation with Yamada, even revealing his interest to her colleague. Despite this, as they continue to chat, an authentic connection begins to form between them. Sasaki now looks forward to not only seeing Yamada but catching up with Tayama during his visits to the store. Although she appears playful, Tayama has a complexity that is yet to be uncovered as their unexpected friendship begins to take shape.
